Dear Constituents and supporters across Canada,

My colleague Wayne Marston (Hamilton-Stoney Creek, NDP) has legislation (C-476) which would put worker’s at the front of the line—ahead of the big banks and corporate creditors—when a company closes its doors, ensuring their vacation pay and pensions are the first priority, not the last.

You may have heard on CBC radio, Wayne’s Bill already has support of all the opposition parties and could be passed in as little as one day. This is critical to helping Nortel pensioners, but will also be important in protecting workers in the future as well. ONLY THE CONSERVATIVES ARE STANDING IN THE WAY OF PASSING THIS BILL AS AN URGENT MATTER!
