Irene Mathyssen London—Fanshawe, ON: Mr. Speaker, I want to take the time this evening to discuss the plight of veterans who are trying to get care for their very specific needs. Finding access to long-term care beds is difficult for all Canadians, but finding those beds in facilities that have the expertise to deal with the specific needs of veterans is even more difficult.
Ms. Irene Mathyssen (London—Fanshawe, NDP): Mr. Speaker, Senator Mike Duffy was tipped off about his inappropriate expenses by the senator overseeing the investigation. Then when he was caught there were no consequences for breaking the rules.

Despite the steady decline of manufacturing jobs in the area, the manufacturers in my region continue to not only provide employment but contribute back to our community.
LONDON – As Canadians celebrate Asian Heritage month, two members of London’s Chinese-Canadian community received a special honour as MP Irene Mathyssen (NDP, London-Fanshawe) presented them with the Governor-General’s “Caring Canadian Award”.
