Ms. Irene Mathyssen (London—Fanshawe, NDP): Mr. Speaker, after promising Colonel Neil Russell, a 33-year veteran with the air force, a long-term care bed in Parkwood Veterans Hospital, Veterans Affairs is backtracking. Colonel Russell will have to pay the province for the bed.
Again this year my office will be a host site for the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program coordinated by the Canada Revenue Agency.
The tax clinics will open on March 7th, and will be available THURSDAYS ONLY from 10am-3pm.

Mr. Speaker, there is a troubling pattern of the Conservatives ignoring due process when it comes to the care of our veterans. Today the ombudsman's report provides the latest example of unfair treatment of veterans seeking disability benefits.
